Default doing heads/cam need advice

I posted this on another section and I was directed to post on this one. My car is a 02 ws6 with L/T headers 3" custom exhaust that drops out in front of the axle. Has air box lid w/K&N filter and all emissions are off. Has some bracing under the car and a ta girdle w/ pre-loading. I'm looking for a head/cam combo to get the car close to 450 rwhp if not there. It's not going to be a drag car. Just something to play with on days off. I would like to be able to run the car around 1300-1500rpms with out trying to stall or buck. I called tsp and the guy on the phone wasn't very good at explaining any pros or cons. Just very one line answers. I don't know much about this stuff so I didn't really help out much. It was like you should run a 228r cam and ls6 2.5 heads for my price range but for 800 more upgrade to the 227cc heads for 20-30 hp more. I don't need the big daddy cam just a setup that is a blast to drive not a pain. The more power is always better but not at the cost of a car that's only fun at the drag strip. My price range is 2 to $3000 but if it's a few more I mite be able to do that. Im talking for everything-oil pump, chain, gaskets ect. Everything to do the swap, -tune. Just looking for opinions on places to call or good setups.

I had 224 cam and ls6 stg 1 heads and probably close to 420, but that thing was great daily driver, and had power all over the board. So I think the 228r would be a good set up.

Any vendors out there what to sell some parts? LOL! Maybe I just talked to the wrong guy at texas speed. I heard about tsp before I even had the idea of getting an f-body. So im sure that would be a good choice. I'm just trying to keep my options open. Is it worth the extra money for a custom cam?

If you don't won't bucking you need to put at least 3.73 preferrably 4.10 gears in with a 228 cam. With what you are wanting to do I would not worry about peak rwhp unless you just want to have a bragging point. I would get the TSP stage 1 LS6 head and cam pkg with the 224 cam. With ported throttle body, longtubes, underdrive pulley, you should make 410 -420 thru 10 bolt , but it will make really good avg power and will be a lot more fun to drive. I would get the pacesetter longtubes and TSP off road Y and good exhaust. Get the 224 cam on a 112 LSA and it will have plenty of lope for what you are wanting to do. Go ahead with 3.73 gears and it would be a beast down low. Get them to milled heads for 11:1 compression. You can probably get everything for around your $3000 budget.

Is the car a M6 or A4? I went with the TV2 and the 2.5 5.3 heads in a stalled auto. I ran around with factory 2.73 gears for a year without any bucking issues. It's all in the tune. Now after new gears I want to go bigger with the cam. They can tune a giant cam to make them street friendly, especially if you are not having to drive it every day. Go big the first time because it sucks going back and doing it again.

The car is a 6-speed with stock gears. I would like to get 410's soon but after the heads and cam. I'm not a animal on the car so the rearend will stay until it breaks. Don't get me wrong. The car is what it is and i'm building it to be a faster/stronger runner. I'm just not made of money so it will take time.

I would like to get a fast, but it's hard to fork out $1000 for an intake. Has anyone tried the 227cc heads from tsp?

You must have talked to the same guy as TSP that I talked to. I have the Torquer V3 and it doesn't buck, it's all in the tune. For $3,000 you going to have to go with budget heads.
