anything else i need for head swap
I have a 98z28 m6 with tr230 cam and am putting a set of 243 heads on the car. I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row as far as what i need to get. the heads are stock 243's. here is a list of what i need that i know of
ls7 lifters
ls2 lifter trays
head gaskets looking at cometic gaskets to bump compression
arp headbolts for pre 2004 ls
coil brackets
oil
filter
is there anything that i am missing?

You can presoak your lifters if you feel like. You really don't need to bump your compression in my oppunipn. Also lube the cam really good before you slide it in.

Although ARP changes their recommended torque values from time to time, when I did my heads with ARP bolts they gave two sets of torque specs - one for use with ARP assembly lube and another for use with 30 weight motor oil. I would use the ARP assembly lube which is usually available from that sell the ARP bolts.
I would also lay in some water pump gaskets - pulling the water pump is a good way to get more coolant out of the block before pulling the heads.

Compression will be fine. Idkwhat it will be exactly but I put 243s on my Gto and camaro and it turned out great. If the cams been in for 5kthe already I wouldn't touch lifters or trays. Why fix it if it ain't broke type of thing. Id strictly do heads. And yes the coils will mate up identically on the brackets. Truck motor is what I've got now. Make sure to clean out the bolt hole really good. I used air duster and a tap the same size to clean out the holes. I use a razor to scrape the old gasket off then brake cleaner on the surface.
