How much does your car weigh, what are you using it for (street, strip, both), stock or aftermarket pistons, and do you mind fly cutting or buying pistons that have valve reliefs?

If you don't have to worry about pistons to valve clearance you should go for around 8.25-a max of 8.5:1 dynamic compression to run on pump gas.
How far does your piston come up out of the bore? If it is a standard .005" out go for a .040" gasket to give yourself a .035" quench zone.

I have new valve relief pistons. 4.000 + .005. Its a street car. Occassional dragstrip. Full trans am. Idk the weight. I thought a higher compression was disirable.
