Default which heads? what kind of gains?

hey guys, my TA is cam only right now with the mods listed in my sig, and putting down 377rwhp. i'm thinking about upgrading the heads, but must admit i'm a noob when it comes to knowing anything about them.

what heads would you recommend with my current setup, and what kind of gains could I expect to see? this car is also my daily driver right now if that makes any difference.

What's your budget? If money is no option, then some AFR 210 heads would be killer. If you're on a really strict budget, then some 243's would be good. Middle ground would be something like the PRC LS6 heads or the PRC 5.3 heads. You could also get some 243's and have them ported by A.I., TEA or Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction. Hope that helps some. Oh, and search on here because a lot of people run the same cam you do with a variety of different heads. That will give you an idea on what kind of power each particular setup will make.

Definitely need to know budget. You can get a set of 243s or 799s (same thing) from ebay for 400 bucks. Then 2-500 for varying levels of rebuild and gain 20+hp.

WCCH or TEA for LS6 heads!! And look at AFR or even PRC 215/227 heads for aftermarket castings.

243s and 799 can still be found new. Don't buy a used set for anything more than a couple hundred bucks. You buy a set for $400-$500, rebuild/springs and now your are up in the cost arena. Worst place to look is Ebay and here...they are selling for premium prices. Call a few people like AI, Texas Speed, and Patriot.

Same reason I bought new. By the time I pay 400-600 that their goin for here and Cnc port them add springs I'm over the cost of a new Cnc ported 243-799 casting from patriot or tsp. I just couldn't see buying used and spending more to have all the work done.

Now if ur not lookin to spend that much and are on a serious budget. Buy a stock set of 243s and stick some springs on them and go. I'm not sure what the gains will be but at that price ur still around half price of new ported 243s
