Default cam too big for my setup?

Alright, so my car is now full bolt ons and I'm looking to go with a cam.

Car is a m6 with stock 3:42 gears and not planning on swapping them out. I'm looking at either the streetsweeper or polluter cam. Would either of these be too large for my car?

Car will be dynotuned by speed inc. After install.

If you think these would be too big, what would you recommend? Stock ss longblock with lid, hooker longtubes, o/r y, borla exhaust.

Most likely you will need 4.10:1 ratio gears for those cams unless you go with Streetsweeper HT the 3.42 will work better.

I wouldnt get either of those cams with stock gears. Those cams need at least 4.10s IMO. Those cams will suck with stock gears. If your set on keep stock gears I would get a way smaller cam.

Or go PM "patG" and he'll custom spec you a cam for the mods you have on your car and what your goals are... IMHO its the best route because its the same price as off the shelf cams but more angled towards your specific car..

Alright, thanks. And if it matters the car gets driven maybe 20 miles a week. I don't want larger gears as once every 2 months or so I drive 200 miles. Possibly road tripping to va in it this summer too.

Its too big if youre not gonna get gears. You would be better with something easier to driver around if youre not racing often and dont need the 5000-7000 powerband.

I bought a 230-236 cam to go with my 3:42. Its something between the Streetsweeper HT and the streesweeper 236-240..

Thanks again, I decided to just e-mail speed inc and see what they recommend as they offered to custom grind me one for the build before. I guess now just trying to figure out what the highest specs I can go with are.
