Yes. That's fine. What are your heads specs? I'm going to run a 4.160 408 with 230 AFR heads to clear the head chambers

No that is not fine. You need at LEAST 4.065 bore. You will have to run a 4.080-4.085 bore gasket. If you do not the gasket will leak.

why won't it seal? I thought .030" over the bore size was recommended?

i asked texas speed if i could run the 4.060" gasket and Aaron there said it would be okay. I'm just confused now since he said it would be fine and the other person told me it needs to be 4.080". I need more input on this!

We use Cometics in our engine shop, 4.130" bore in either .027/.040/.051 on 408 builds. Nothing but great luck!

Because the chamber size is a tad bit bigger or right on the edge of 4.060 as it is. The fire ring may not seat well. As Jesse at Scoggin Dickey, they sell them all the time.

Why are you so against the cometics? You should use a 4.085 gasket in any thickness you want. Thats it. As long as you abide by that you are ok. No need to complicate it with a 4.100 or larger gasket, you have the answer in front of you. SD can get you the gasket you need.

I'm just under a budget and wanted to order everything from the same site to same all the hidden shipping costs. I'll prolby just end up ordering the Cosmetic LS1 4.085" gaskets from texas speed.
