Yeah I have been running the stock 241s for the past 2 years. Time to upgrade, just want to make the best decision.

I am looking to spend between 1000-1800. AI really impressed me when I spoke with Phil but he wanted me to change my cam and also port my manifold. I really dont want to change the cam at this point and would like to find the best heads for the Trex cam.

so i have been hearing such good things on the l92\ls3 heads. texas speed has the ported l92\ls3 heads that produce 351cfm at .600lift which is perfect for the Trex cam. these heads are supposed to produce 25whp over stock ls3 heads. here is the link check them out. i think this is what i may be going to!!

To be honest, and I bet most will disagree with me here but, the Trex will work best with "dare I say it - Stock heads" That cam was designed around stock heads. I'm willing to bet that big heads with that cam on a 346 will very low torque numbers! A set of stock 243's with valve springs is as much as I would go with a Trex in a stock cube 346. If you had had more cubes, then by all means go with bigger heads.
Another thing you may want to look at if you don't already have them is rod bolts. The Trex cam is going to need more rpm's to make power which will really test the stock rod bolts!

Yes my friend told me I should order rod bolts asap also as I am shifting at 7000 rpm I am only playing with fire. I am currently using the victor jr cathedral port manifold so I dont plan on changing to an ls3 head. I am very torn right now between having my 241s and manifold ported by AI or buying the trick flow 220 as casts or Texas speeds 220 as casts if they ever are released. Also in the mix is the Patriot Predator heads I read an article that tested them with a futral cam that is similar to the trex that put down impressive numbers. I just want to chose the head that will gain me the most power of these listed as they are in my budget.
