I'm looking at my options for a crank in a LM7, size and brand and why. I'm going with a 3.898 bore so it will at least be a 346ci. Motor will see boost btw, 8-12lbs and with have 317 heads and I'll run 9.5:1 compression
i've thought of that but if the shop ***** up on rebalancing the crank and the engine goes to **** i'll be very unhappy. i can have it looked at i suppose or i could go with a 4" if i want a 383 hmmm
Rebalance the stock one with the new rotating assembly. They are good for over 1000 at the flywheel
Have you dont this? If so how much did it cost.
I would think that it would be very expensive since they would have to ADD mallory metal and alot of it to rebalance for a substantially higher weight piston.

Hmmm, I would think an aftermarket piston would be lighter than a factory slug, and either way not enough to make a substantial difference in bob weight...
Depends. When I had a stock 5.3 crank balanced I believe the forged pistons of the larger bore (3.838 vs 3.780) were very close to the stock weight of the 5.3 pistons...closer than stock vs stock anyways. I was charged 150 bucks to re balance.
