Default Help with Valvetrain selection

I just got Comp Cams 224/224 581/581 Cam w/ a 114 LSA

I also spray a TNT 100 shot at the track.

Just wanted to know what everyone recommends for the Valvetrain...

Do I updrade it or leave it alone.

Leave it alone. No reason to spend the cash on a fractional HP gain if you're not solving a problem. Just keep what you have.

Untunned and running very ritch!
Spend your money on tuning Much better spent.

I don't understand.
Are you asking if you should leave your stock valvetrain in?
You need to upgrade your valvetrain to comp 918's at a minimum with that cam.

Sorry, I was making an incorrect assumption it seems. Yes, you do need to upgrade your valvesprings. Comp 26918-16 will work just fine as 01_SuperSlow suggested.

You'd snap your stock springs firing it up for the first time.

Your rockers and pushrods are fine.

If I were to change the rockers and pushrods what would be the best combo.

I'm thinking that changing them may help me when I spray. But maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks for the help guys

It really isn't going to help you to any significant degree when you spray. The stock rockers and pushrods will do great.

The only threat with the pushrods is bending one. It is much better to bend a pushrod (a couple of bucks) than to trash a valve (possibly ruin your heads, definitely have to R&R head ands replace valve) or collapse a lifter (have to do a lot of disassembly and replace lifter).

At a minimal I would put in some 918's and hardend pushrods... there is no way that I would leave the stock pushrods in there with that cam!
