Default Fair price for hotcam & LS6 springs?

I have a 2000 TA with the mods listed in my sig. A friend of mine has a hotcam and set of LS6 springs that have never been used. As I am currently on a tight budget I thought these would make a decent addition to the car until I can afford a good set of heads and matching cam. What are you guys opinion as to the value of these items? Thanks!

If the combo is cheaper than $300 grab it any higher and you might as well buy new

If he wants like $125 for used. If they are yellow springs you should be OK.
You could also go looking on the Corvette side for parts.

I found a cam and springs here on tech (224r and 918 springs) both brand new and only paid $400. For what its worth.

used OEM springs..LOL. IF money is that tight then wait and save a bit more and at least get a set of new ones.. Call Scoggin Dickey for them and get a good price..
Offer $75 shipped.. the hot cam is all over the place.. they are literally a dime a dozen and there are better choices

They are not used, both items are new and have never been installed. He bought them in 02-03 when he had a Z28 and never got around to installing them then got rid of the car shortly after and they have been on a shelf ever since.

Do it. The HotCam is a great budget part. You will love the aditional power and it will work well with your stock heads.

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this. As you said I think it will be a nice addition until something better can be gotten and installed which will likely be a good while down the road. I made an off handed suggestion of $125 for the cam and springs and he said sure. So I really don't think you can beat the price/hp gain ratio on that one

I'm also assuming I should probably replace the oil pump, timing chain and push rods while I'm at it.

The timing chain is a definite, and since you will be in there you can do the oil pump. The stock pushrods will be fine with the hot cam.

Great choice on the cam...My LQ4 put 439 to the wheels with this cam and some refreshed 243 heads. Huge bang for the buck!
