So I just ordered a set of YT 6645 for my TFS 215 heads and now I have been reading on this and the corvette forum about more and more of these rockers breaking. WTF.. I dunno anymore.. what is fail safe beyond spending big bucks on a jesel setup when you need a full roller thats light at the valve tip?

A fellow Winnipegger!
The stock rockers seem to be the best - especially with a cam with less than .625" lift. The crappy thing is if your TFS heads have bronze valve guides, they will wear FAST if using the oem rockers.
If you are set on using the TFS heads, get the guides changed to factory GM style guide material, and you should be set.

Trunion upgraded stock rockers here and no problems.... Only think like stated above youd need powder metal valve guides or the stock rockers will eat the bronze ones up

Thanks pal. Im way beyond that basic info now. Knew that months ago. lol.. Thanks anyway. Im researching rockers other than the avg. run of the mill HS or YT that can actually handle heavier open spring pressures.

They do and that is part of the reason why the trunion upgrade was developed

Biggest thing the trunion upgrade does is eliminate the needle bearings. So in the event the rocker fails, needles don't go through your motor. Needle bearings are sorta like AIDS for your motor. Might not kill it initially, but it will die in time. Stock rockers have been failing because people are using a much stiffer spring these days such as the PRC .650 or .675, and using higher lift cams. This eventually will break the tip off and what is causing a lot of failure. THe comp or Jesel are great choices for aftermarket. Yella terra or Skorpion are...ehhh.

Are these the COMPS you are recommending http://texas-speed.com/p-1219-comp-c...1-rockers.aspx,

also what JESSEL ROCKERS would you recommend?

Yes, those are the Comp rockers. Below is the link to Jesel's.

I was at Texas Speed today ordering a top end and when I asked them about a rocker they said nothing beats a stocker with a trunion upgrade. (for what I'm trying to do) I'm sure a 1000$ set of jessels would be just fine but I got upgraded rockers for 1/3 of that

Stockers will hold for a little while but they are not made to, even with a trunion upgrade. It doesn't strengthen the entire rocker. The tip is what is most prone to breakage with today's aggressive cam lobes, spring opening pressure, etc. Try a search on broken rockers and make the decision yourself.

What cam?

Depending on that plenty of rockers would beat factory... It will wear the tip of the rocker out (might not even be on the tip) and will shift side to side.

Also you didn't get "upgraded rockers"... You got an upgrade to your rockers so that when they fail they won't wreak havoc on everything.
