Default TSP 231/237 Peak Power...What RPM?

I am wondering at what rpm you guys are seeing this cam make peak HP. I will have this cam on stock heads with full bolt ons. I am just guaging how much to tell the tuner to spin it during the dyno tune.

Thanks.

I'd spin it to right at 7K. Mine peaked after 6K but I can't remember the exact number off the top of my head.

most peak at around 6300 but there have been some that peaked higher...jason said they might have been ground wrong from the cam maker...its got 2 degrees of advance ground in so thats why it isnt supposed to peak at some off the wall #.

6600 is the max that I would spin a stock bottom end.

When I was running that cam it peaked at 6300, shiftlight at 6600, rev limit at 6800. If I wasn't careful it would pull right into the 6800 limiter. That cam pulls hard.

With my PP II heads and the 231/237 mine peaked right at 5800-5900 and held almost steady until red-line at 6800.

I am planning on having the limiter set at 6800, shift light at 6600. You guys don't think occassional 6600-6800 action is going to hurt the stock bottom end do you? I go to the track maybe 5 times per year...the bottom end has 7k miles.

I have had the limiter at 6600 for the past 18K miles in my car. I run the car hard at open track events on a road course, and last weekend the motor developed a serious rod knock. I suspect a stretched rod bolt is the culprit. I would at least put good rod bolts in for anything past 6400.

What if I just have a cam? Is that okay to run past 6600 RPM?
