Default Flycutting pistons and nitrous

How much can you flycut stock pistons and still run a 150shot? I will be getting a new cam soon and im trying to decide if I should flycut so I can run a bigger cam.

0.100 to 0.125 absolute max but do the research to back-check this.

What is your PTV as of now? I would measure where your PTV is now, and cut what you need. Not worry about cutting max relief. If your that bad with PTV you might need to go another route. I've heard of guys cutting .080" all day and being fine. I have no personal experience with flycutting or do I know the answer to your question. I am only trying to look at the problem in a different perspective. Good luck with you search.

.1" and .100" are the same measurement. One is to the tenth, the other is to the thousandth! More like a dumbass than smartass!

I'll chalk that one up as a loss... I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. Thank you for the correction. I've edited my post.

Just cut as much as you need, or back the cam up for more/better clearance.

Im waiting to mill the heads to get compression but still run a larger cam. Im looking at the Tick Performance stage 3 saturday night special cam and I have PRC stage 1 ls6 heads, that need to be rebuild. Im trying to decide if I should mill them to 58cc,60cc,62cc. Right now they are the stock 64cc.

.080 INTAKE AND EXHAUST WOULD BE GOOD. Just deburr reliefs nicely to avoid hotspots.
Try for 11:1 ratio SCR. Good for most fuels and get a cam with a max 8.5 DCR.

Have you tried talking to some vendors. Give TSP, AI, TEA etc a call and see what they have to say.

Sounds good man. Post the responses you get so we can all share the information. I'm quite curious as well.
