Default Anyone running Brian Tooley SLR lifters?

Looking for something better than LS7's given their spotty performance, but not looking to spend upwards of $500 for short travel comps or johnson link bars. I came across Brian's set for $200 bucks, USA made, forged bodies, toleranced/matched internals and measured to within several millionths. Valved for a slow leakdown rate (SLR) to help combat net lift losses / improve lift consistency. Anyone using these? Feedback?

Interested in this topic as well. Same preload clearances as the LS7's?

Your replies in other threads I found in a search earlier is what led me to checking them out. Did Brian ever respond to the question about recommended preloads on these?

I will also be running them. I had already purchased some but I sold them to get other required items for now, but I will be buying them again.

so lots of people "will be" running them, but no one yet here that is running them.

Seems to be a lot of interest, hopefully Brian can chime in and enlighten us. I pm'd him for some info, I might ping him again and let him know about this thread.

Please make a thread or something to let us know how they are regardless of how limited the seat time. What kinda build and rpm are you going to be running with them?

I put a trex cam against them and brian tooley racing extreme valve spring kit. Im willing to let it spin to 7k rpm but I guess we will see if it doesn't fall off before that but with the 110lsa I bet it will sure as hell try haha

Ya ive been wanting to make a build thread but every spare minute I have has been dedicated to getting it running. I had this bright idea on relocating my coil packs underneath the engine mounts after I seen another guy on here do it and ive been pulling out my hair ever since.

I'm waiting to see how they hold up too. I'm trying to avoid LS7s but not looking to spend $500+ either.

I agree 100%

Is this a relatively new product? Seems like no ones logged any kind of miles on them yet, even after expanding my search to include several other forums and the rest of the interwebs. Lots of guys seem to be either interested or in the process of a build.

Hopefully Brian chimes in soon...I tried to incorporate everyone else' inquiries to make a concise list he can address once he gets here. Anything else I'm missing?

-General construction (materials, where made, tolerancing)
-Recommended preload
-RPM range capability
-How these lifters measure up in valve control to more expensive lifters, setups being equal
-What level of valvetrain noise to be expected
-Reliability

I just shot Brain a message. Hopefully he'll pop in here and she'd some more light on these. These weren't available when I did my build, but if they would have been I may have went with them vice the LS7's I'm running now.

No problems yet with mine though *knocks on wood*

I've been interested in these vs the Morel 5290s or the more high end Morel 5206s.

I've also got a set of his SLR lifters that I need to install, and I still need to find out the recommended lifter pre-load range.
