Default PTV clearance?

Im ready to order pistons for my build. Its a daily driver. With a slight chance of a 200 shot once and a while. I have a 6.0 iron block bored .030 with ls3 heads. I have a bullet racing cam that is 288/299 with .620/.625 lift. Will I need any valve relifes if I run a flat top piston?

Most aftermarket LS pistons have valve reliefs in them already, so that will be a plus for you and have plenty of PTV then. The reliefs will also add volume though, so make sure you refigure your SCR.

I'd make sure the pistons are cut for LS3 heads as well. Otherwise, you may run into PtV problems. But almost all aftermarket shelf pistons have valve reliefs in them and would require a custom order for true flat tops.

As has been already said, with aftermarket pistons 90% of them have a large enough relief to run almost anything.
