Other than a couple top builders stopped using them and went to cam motion..

I've never had a problem with a comp cam, I guess it was something during the hardening process on a certain batch of cams sold awhile back..

**** like that will scare people off for awhile

Their cams are fine...just don't get one of the "austempered iron cores". They're treated cast iron, not steel. I've seen several of 'em track with roller lifters.
They're probably the biggest cam seller in the country, you're naturally going to hear more about them - good and bad.

Only bad thing I have heard about COMP CAMS is that sometimes when you need a spec'd cam they tend to spec way to big of a cam for your needs. lol Nothing major though, you can tell them to spec you a smaller cam or simply go to a person that is a good cam spec then just tell COMP how you want your cam.

My cam has been good so far. I have heard a couple sponsors on here say their quality has gone down though. Thats something I was worried about before my cam went in.

Still waiting for more info from OP.

I always see guys saying how they talk to vendors that stopped using Comp but never see vendors post up anything negative about their experiences. I remember reading EPS recently switched to Cam Motion and FTI pretty much sticks to Lunati. Ive also read how about how big Damian's scrape pile is of faulty comp cams. Just wish there was more info from the guys building/specing out engines instead of word of mouth on here..

I have seen Damian's scrape pile of Comp Cams it is a mountain. Everyone of them had at least one roller lifter grove worn in the lobe. Some had multiple lobe failures. I dug through the whole stack and everyone was a Comp core. After seeing that I decided on another manufacturer.

I know Comp was notorious for not having had their cams match what the cam card would say. At least that was the case with a lot of Mustang owners...me included. When I did cams on my 04 gt one came 7 degrees retarded and the other 5 degrees retarded...good thing we checked lol

^^^Yikes!!!! I had heard some bad things about comp QC lately. The T-Rex I just pulled looks fine, no wear at all... though it is 2-3 years old and not affected by recent qc issues.
