You need to take it to a tuner an get it tuned for the change to different gears.

^This. You can get a hand held or go to an in person tuner (recommended). Either way, you're looking at $3-400 bucks. Going to a tuner will open up some horsepower and he will.be your best friend later on down the road when you upgrade further.

Your stock gears were probably 3:23. Possibly even 2:73 if you have an auto.

Now if he's not getting a full tune and just having it adjusted for the gears then it'll be a lot less, but if the budget permits then a full tune is the way to go.

You could do a mail order tune through frost. Its like 150 bucks I think for bolt ons. If you've got a local tuner you could have them do it.

You could get a Dakota Digital speedo signal converter, ~$95 and wire it inline. I have one, had it for 2yrs and no issues... Plus it's not a one time use. I've adjusted speedo at least three times... Once for different tire size, once for trans signal (T56 magnum uses a different signal) and once for rear gear change.

Tune, psh....

Most performance shops will charge you $50 for this if you have not had the car previously tuned by them. If you have they usually don't charge you anything....it takes longer to walk over and get the laptop than it does to adjust it.
