Default Yes it is not a track car

Came upon this high mileage 01 C5 and put in another newer LS1 (from a Lumina SS, similar to a GTO).
It will have: (already have these parts)
LTs, X pipe into Borla.
SS3600 Yank TC,

Besides that I'm just going to cam it (for street), so I chose:

218/230 .605/.612 108-1 LSA

Why?
It will sound good,
2000>6200 rpm

Trq should be fun in that light frame.

Do you plan on putting it on the dyno...?
It would be interesting to see what the dyno graph looks like.

Eventually, I'll measure its power. What I'm interested in is a muscly rumble with tire frying on demand without spinning it more than stockish rpm range.
I think it will make around 375whp once done. Plenty for street fun.

Did you type that intake duration right? 118? You mean 218?

Thanks, I just needed something to play with. I have to make up for my stupidity when I sold my Z28.
I might put a Maggie or similar SC on it eventually.

Sounds like a very smart cam choice for your needs. Make sure to post up a video.

Too early to tell if it is smart, but I'm trying to hit all points. Now I hope Isky can cut this one without too much deviance from spec.

I'd like to see how Isky does.

I know Bullet does a good job with custom specs and so does Cam Motion.

Isky has some pretty aggressive ramp rates on some of their lobes. Those look similar to then Comp Cams LSl lobes.

These are a tad softer than XER with a variance rate of 50 Vs 49 for XER. Still pretty aggressive but manageable IMO. At the rpm I plan on running they won't be an issue with the stock valves.
I think I will run a set of platinum BTR springs. (Because in the event of a Supercharger).

Hey Predator Z, I have a similar cheater type wide split cam like that only on a 117. It has performed great for me over the years but I always wondered if I left some power on the table by not going to one of the bigger conventional 228/232 type cams. What do you think? Mine was a custom grind by geoff at eps about 5 yrs.ago. Thanx, I always read your cam threads.

I would think with an lsa of 117 your torque curve will be much different than his at 108-1
You might be giving up some peak power with your cam compared to a 230s duration but i would imagine average hp and power down low would be equal if not higher. Im no expert by any means, im sure predator z could tell you, seems pretty knowledgable
