Default 02 trans am hesitates

I've got an o2 trans am ls1 and it will hesitate and act like its not getting gas, backfire and die but doesn't do it all the time... Any ideas?

How many miles? Is it modded or stock?

I just had that same probably and I changed my fuel assembly out and haven't had that problem since. But now my cats are bad and its starting to hesitate again so i'm not thinking it might be either your cats or fuel regulator

Scan your check engine light and go from there, everything else is a wild guess...

110k miles, has headers and off road y pipe. But check engine light doesn't come on when it happens

Light doesn't have to be on, I've found codes with engine light off...worth a **** and its free, unless you wanna start throwing parts at it

^^^ check fuel pressure, sounds like a lean condition

Make sure you have a good temp sensor those will cause issues like you mention. I had mine go bad a month or two ago and was causing my car to buckle, backfire and not run right

Also o2 sensors, but like wildcamaro said do the scan other then that your just throwing money at it... but you will have slot of new parts

Yeah I'm with him, just yesterday, start it doing the same symptoms as yours, and it was a the temperature coolant sensor that was crack and it was not making good contact, replaced it and its working great now
