Paint removal from intake manifold
Anyone know a safe effective method for removing paint from the intake manifold. I'm a fan of the bare plastic look personally. I have some strong stuff that pretty much blisters and flakes paint on contact, but I think that could ruin the plastic. I'm not a fan of sanding as I don't want to mar up the plastic either. And it would take forever.
Anyone have any experience?

Like the other guy said, looks like your only option is to sell and buy a plain one.

Well you've kinda shot down both options really. It's not going to magically dissapear, you're either going to have to use some paint thinning solution, or do it manually with elbow grease.

There is a paint stripper made for plastic bumpers for autos. Check your local paint supply. I've used it on a lot softer plastic and seemed to work pretty good for what it was. No where near as strong as regular stripper so, be patient with it.

What color is it? Is the paint nice or have you already tried taking it off..
Like what was said above you'll probably never get it to look like the oem manifolds and you should trade someone manifold assuming yours still looks decent..
I would swap mine for a nice painted manifold...

Easy-Off oven cleaner safely removed Krylon Fusion plastic paint from my FAST intake. Here is the thread describing my experience:
