Default Help with cam selection. Something easy on vale train?

I have an 01 z06 (smaller ls6 cam) with about full bolt-ons (see sig). I would love a very choppy cam and would like to see gains (4-5mph in 1/4), but would like to be as easy on the valve train as possible with my cam selection. Would like to stay under 228 duration and under 590" lift. And would like the cam to be on a lobe that is as easy on valve train as possible. Is this possible? What do you think?

Maybe something like a 228 or 224 cam would be what you are looking for

Futral F4, 226/226 112lsa, .575"/.575".
Futral F5, 224/228 112lsa, .588"/.576".

CompCam (custom grind) with Xtreme rpm(high lift) lobes, or if you're will to go
above .6oo"lift then LXL lobes
For a nice shelf grind with the Xtreme rpm(high lift) lobes, look at the Comp Cam 228/230 112lsa #54-428-11. it's a little bit larger than you wanted to go, but it still would be a good choice, even on a DD.

"Easy on the valve train as possible" you want HUC lobes. But if I were you I would call EPS, Ed Curtis etc. to have a cam designed for your application.

Hope this helps.

Yeah but the smallest HUC lobe is a 231 @ .050" lift, which is larger than he wants to go.

226/234 .570"/.576" 110+3

Very mild and controllable lobes. Great torque cam, makes great average power and will definitely have the choppy idle you desire.

Look at comp 54-428-11 its a 228/230 .571/.573 on a 112. Its what i am running and it has a choppy idle and great street manners. The lift is easy on valve springs and i do believe its beehive friendly. It has great throttle response even at 2000 rpm.

I'd listen to this guy I've heard he's picked out 2 or 3 good cams before.
LOL I might be forgetting a few zeros behind those numbers.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

I really think the OP would like that camshaft. It's the same grind as our SNS Stage 2 cam, but on the lobe profiles he requested.
