Keep in mind they are only $20 bucks, so if its questionable then replace it.
OK, that makes sense. It's not because the plate wears out, but because the plate and gasket are one component. Guess I'll be buying a new one. And the TF kit.

Yes the gasket is embedded .. The TF kit is well worth the cash

It doesn't come with bolts. I don't see how the plate can leak unless the gasket is bad or the Block or plate are warped. Is there any groves on the block where the cam plate sits? Hopefully its something simple.

Sorry to bring this thread back up. But has any one had problems with the bolts stripping out?

I stripped the heads of all 5 allen head bolts that are supposed to be used with the TF kit before they even got to their torque spec (3 on the cam retainer plate and the 2 small ones that hold the dampner to the bracket). None of the threads stripped out though. I ended up just taking it back off and moving forward without it. Plenty of engines out there without the dampner so Im not worried too much about it.

I stripped all 3 TF button head bolts too b4 I got to the torque value. I went to the hardware store and bought a couple from there, I believe they were 10.9 or 12.9 hardness. They didn't strip. For some reason I couldn't get a Metric or SAE allen head bit of the correct size to fit properly in the blue TF button heads.

They stripped because the hex socket fit sloppy in the bolt.

I stripped the first hex bolt for my fast intake before hitting 18ft lbs for the valley cover.

I went to ace hardware and bought some new bolts and they fit better with my bit. Much tighter tolerance

How much torque did you tighten the bolts down to?
