LS3/L92 Criagslist heads - Good deal?
Guy posted these up on craigslist and Im in the market for some really good heads as Im building a 6.0L. The cam im thinking needs bigger springs then what these have.
My cam Im thinking of getting http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1091&sb=2.
Are L92 and LS3 a different head? Are these good heads or is there a sponsor or something on the site i can order new heads with the springs i need for cheaper?

So i got these heads, but when i did the guy told me he got them almost two years ago from jegs and when he posted he just copied and pasted the details from the ones they sell today, however the springs on mine are different then the ones in the pictures today.
Is there a way to tell what springs these have by taking them off? Looking for a cam that can get around .6 lift and would hate to buy new springs if they are rated for that.

$$ wise if not blemished they are a good deal. However personally I would never instal any heads without having them checked out and with those size valves (even hollow), I would make sure I run the correct springs.
Lift capabilities is not the only criteria one chooses springs by. Open and closed pressures are what is important as well. These are directed by ramp rates on cam and rpm usage.
Springs should never just be "drop in". Install height is important as well and shimming may be required to have the valves at desired height. Measure all your valves and you'll be surprised that there is a variance in the stock valve job. Never forget those are mass produced.

I just bought a slightly used pair of LS3 0821 heads for $450 off of craigslist. Had 6k miles and the only problem was one slightly bent intake valve. Women I got it from didn't know how much they where worth so after spending $35 on a new valve I got a pretty good set of heads on the cheap.
