Default Iron 4.8/5.3 blocks that won't bore to 3.903/5

I have read that most 4.8/5.3 blocks can be bored to 3.903/5. The earlier blocks are better than the newer blocks. What is the definition of the older and newer, what years? I will do a sonic check.

I am trying to get some feed back. I don't want to end up getting 3 blocks and none of them able to be bored to 3.903/5.

Thank you.

I believe and maybe wrong all the LR4/LM7 Iron 4.8/5.3's can be bored to 3.90 but the newer L33 has an aluminum block so its in the same problem as the LS1 it would need to be resleeved to achieve bigger bores
