Default tips for last valve springs

Changed my valve springs today with the More Performance in car valve spring tool. Wow, thats a mouthful. Anyways, I got a late start so I didn't finish tonight. I got all the springs except the two on 7 and 8 (very rear on both sides).

I tried an extension, but it doesn't seem to work. No matter what size extension I use, one of the other springs (or valves with the springs removed) always get in the way. If I can't think of anything else I'm going to pull the intake manifold to free up some more room back there.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to get the last 2 springs on each side?

When i did it I just used a long extension and made sure to hold a point at the same level(or even a little higher with the tool to make it work. I had no problems with it but i also had a second person to help out.

I would say drive your car over but....

I bought this groovy tool off ebay that you just crank down on and lets you pull the springs. It was dirt cheap, and I don't think it is going to hurt anything. It is pretty much like the standard valve spring compressor after it has been cut apart. It will fit in anywhere. It is working fine for now...I am in the middle of my install...I just have...other problems.

i used the more tool also, i changed to dual springs and did completely by myself. you just need a good foot long 3/8 extension and a 1/2 to 3/8 reducer to put on a big ratchet. i used my 1/2 torque wrench. works fine just lil tricky at first.

The Larry Tool is the best HANDS DOWN. I have changed about 100 LS1 springs and have used a bunch of different tools. The Larry tool is by far the easiest and fastest.

Here is a link I found:

I got mine off ebay. The one I bought was cheaper I think, plus it is better because is has an allen head slot in the end of the threaded rod in case it gets stuck. Then you won't have to ruin it with vice grips or pliers.

I threw the slp tool in the box, and only used the larry tool.!!!

That's a shame...I thought the new SLP tool sounded really cool. Oh well. When you can get the job done better for less money everybody wins. Except SLP...
