Default G5X2 and G5X3

What are the main differences between the G5X2 and the G5X3 cams?? Also, I tried to find those cams on the LG motorsports web page but had no luck. Could someone post a direct link?? Thanks

The X-3 is just a tad bigger than the X2. Same lobe style, same split just slightly bigger. LG dosen't list them on their site, you have to call.

The X3 makes more power up top and has more torque down low than the X2 has. The X2 is no joke though, it's a great cam, but I LOVE my X3 and wouldn't use anything else. I had a Comp Cams 224/228, .581/.588 112 LSA before this, and the X3 stomps that cam in every way possible. I am using stock heads as well. I think the HP difference up top is like 10 RWHP or so. Some people are freaked out about the big lift numbers, but I know several people in my area running them and we all have no issues or complaints, well except that our tires are pissed off at us

It was my understanding that the X2 had more torque down low than the X3, and the X3 had better top end .

May be true, I am not for sure, I just know for sure the X3 has more HP than the X2, you may be right, but either cam is badass and will tear most cams out there apart.

Ive had both.. the X2 comes in about 400 RPM earlier, but dies off around 6600, while my graph was literally FLAT at 7000 rpm with the X3... it NEVER lets off. Also the X2 has a little flatter of a torque and power curve, where as the X3 comes on VIOLENTLY around 2600 and pulls like a freight train until I let off! It took me about a week to get used to the power differences as they feel COMPLETLY different... but I wont switch back now! The top end is INSANE on the X3!

Think of it this way....
60s Muscle car feel - G5X2
Really Really fast european car - G5X3...

the X2 just comes in hard early while the X3 doesnt really hit until 2500-2600... but pulls much harder for longer! However both of these cams will make more low end then pretty much any other cam, and I have the proof for that as many of my customers have switched from smaller "Torque cams" to the G5 cams and gained low end. Dont listen to the LG haters and just try one! you WONT regret it!

you dont want to see arizona dynos! They are FAR off par from the rest of the world due to our crap gas, hot temps etc... we max out at about 23-24 degrees of timing due to detonation while the rest of the world runs 28-30 degrees... and I have to pull even more for nitrous!
However if you want to see the dyno let me know and I will post it. Figure add 20-30 if it were anywhere else in the country

Keep in mind VERY conservative tune as I drive 100+ miles a day... temp outside was around 95-100 degrees, DA was around 4500, heavy 18s weigh 29.5 lbs each with 275 BFG DRs on and 2 plugs were shot from a bad nitrous pass a week previous...

I will have a new dyno shortly with good plugs, QTP 1 7/8 headers, my new electric water pump, wheels/tires that are 8 lbs lighter a corner etc

SSOnYourSix,

How much do these cams shake the car? I had an FM-11 on a 112 in my old car with an X pipe dumped before the axle and it shook the car like crazy. Vibrated **** all to hell. Im trying to shy away from that this time. With a Y pipe and GMMG catback how civilized will it be on a 114? Don't mind a healthy sounding car, actually I love it, but I just don't want it to be shaking the car like crazy.

SSOnYourSix, that was the G5X3 dyno chart right? Do you have the X2 sheet?
Those are good numbers, congrats
I feel your pain about the sorry *** 91 octane, that what I have over here too.
Forgive my ignorance, but is your A/F ratio supposed to be at 12.0?
I ask because my stock dyno had the A/F at 13.5 .

my car doesnt shake at all... feels close to stock other than the rumble from the true duals with no cats... and thats with 75K on the motor mounts! It drives like a stock car with a TON more power!

I dont have my X2, but it wasnt far behind at all... just died off around 6600 instead of pulling to 7000... nad its tuned VERY rich for the temperatures here, we detonate badly with the super high DA and crap fuel mixed with hot hot days! The car would make a ton more power if it was in texas or somewhere else running 28 degrees of timing with a little leaner mix... unfortunatly here we cant
