THE cam has arrived, M2 the most powerful LS1 camshaft on the market
Everybody knows that we have been working on our new camshaft for sometime now. Well, the M2 has arrived. We started on thursday morning by making a few baseline pulls on the F1 cam that was already in place in our test vehicle. The net result was 429hp / 393tq and that was the best of 5 pulls. We then yanked the F1 and replaced it with the M2 and stuck the car back on the dyno. All of this happened on the same day with no other changes to the car except for just the cam swap. The early results were 447hp / 400tq with the rev limiter rasied but with NO TUNING. That is a net gain of 18 rwhp and 7 rwtq over the F1.
Chris Marsh was nice enough to come out and assist us with a little LS1-edit tuning. We tuned the car with and without the exhaust.
Through the full exhaust the car pulled 450.8/406.1 SAE corrected
Through open headers the car put down 455.0/411.2 SAE corrected
Mods
MMT Stage 2 LS1 heads (2.055/1.60)
M2 camshaft (228/234 .607/.598 110 LSA +2)
LS6 intake
G-hann longtubes w/ 3" Y-pipe with 2 bullet mufflers into a 4" Mufflex with ANOTHER 4" Edelbrock muffler out back(Yes 3 mufflers)
ASP Pulley
MMT Airbox Lid w/ Holley Filter
SLP 85mm MAF
TR-6 plugs w/ Stock plug wires
Ram 6000 series clutch
Moser 12-bolt w/ 33 spline axles and 4.11's
Bone stock 346 shortblock.
All pulls were made on 11" Grandsport wheels with 315 Nitto DR's at 28 psi. All belts were in place, no shortbelt, the AC belt was even on the car. Basically NO DYNO TRICKS WHATSOEVER!!!! :worship:
This camshaft is a result of hours of R&D and a relentless pursuit of the ultimate LS series camshaft on the market. Guess what, we have achieved our goal.
I know there will be questions feel free to ask away.

Well Let's see.
Take a G5 cam 224/230 Add 4 degrees, and there is your R&D
Immitation is the best form of flattery.
My god, you are brilliant!
What happened to the "reverse split" no torque cam theory that you invented. Forgot, that was the MTI +1

Sean, excellent numbers! Those are some great gains over an already well-proven cam. Keep up the good work.

Re: THE cam has arrived, M2 the most powerful LS1 camshaft on the market
Dude, this is that same test car as the F1 is it not? Im a little lost...What happened to the 445/40x it put down before?
As far as it being stock, I KNOW that that motor went through a rebuild not too long ago so please tell all the facts!
Im not doubting the power, just the fact that your not telling the whole truth.
Whats PTV like? Flycutting seems necessary with that much lift, and how much did you mill the heads?( MTI heads I believe )
Nice numbers, and Ill be waiting for a # on the next few cars if they let you continue to post since youre not a sponsor

Lou, why do you constantly make yourself look so jealous and angry? it makes you look like a 3rd rate company, and i honestly know you are not, but with remarks like that i dont consider that professional at all.
IMHO i dont doubt the big big cams (and i used to think mine was too big at 230/230) on well ported heads, but the drivability (i am talking real world daily driver here) is just a lot to take. i assume you will admit it isnt for the daily driver?
But i will say congrats on the dyno numbers. now lets see her rip down teh track.

Re: THE cam has arrived, M2 the most powerful LS1 camshaft on the market
Sean, we will be at the shop tomorrow (Sunday). You are welcomed to come over and put it on the dyno. I will be the first to congratulate you if your numbers bear out.
You could come back with some "snappy" derogatory remark, and well, so be it. Or you can prove to the world that your numbers are what you say they are.
I know, all the excuses, but the dyno is open. We will pull rageman's car off the dyno and give you priority.
See you tomorrow.

My god, you are brilliant!
What happened to the "reverse split" no torque cam theory that you invented. Forgot, that was the MTI +1

I have been on the LS1 board since they have been around and I have never seen anyone let alone a sponsor act this way. This crap has been going on for over a week. Lou you are being a whinny little bit(h. Just drop it and shut the hell up about everyone wanting to be like you. Nobody wants to be you or copy you. Do you think that you invented the camshaft? Well I hate to tell you this but you didn't. Just because someone else makes a new cam that made a little more power than your G5XYZ doesn't make them cheats. All they did was just take what you thought was good enough and made it better. Although using different lobes than yours. Your loss is their gain in my book. How about this nobody is allowed to grind a new cam without the written consent of the camshaft God Lou. Now I see why they changed the rules in the Trans Am series to get rid of you.
KECHME sorry I did this in your post. Congrats on the great numbers I wish you the best of luck at the track. Let us know ASAP what the beast runs.

Looks to me like LG met the challenge before it was issued, and came out with a little more torque, too.
Like I said, I am not trying to start any more trouble here and I am not attempting to hijack a thread; a challenge was issued (by the starter of this thread), and this post (IMO) is pertinent to that challenge.
Unless there is something that I am missing here on Glenn's dyno (which I have to admit is a possibility) or the latest results from MMT.
