My motor personally has 60 thousandths taken off and I'm currently spraying a 175 shot through the motor with no problems at all. I also know someone with 90 thousandths off spraying around a 200 so I say it's all up to you.......do you plan on spraying the car?

I have cut over .125" reliefs in the stock pistons without any problems. I wouldn't recommend going much more than this though, even though the stock piston does have quite a bit of material in the area where you are actually cutting the reliefs.

.060"-.080" is a pretty safe amount.

To be safe 80 tops. If you need more then buy aftermarket pistons with 2cc valve relives.
