What heads
Well, what heads with this camshaft 576/562 230/224 110.4? I am going for a cam install on the 22nd and they may have to change the lifters so why not new heads too. Any help is appreciated.

They are the best because they are a whole new design from the ground up this is the first aftermarket cast head for the ls1. They have a really small intake runner diameter and flow just as much as a head with a larger runner = high velocity= greater power under the curve.

Food for thought.....Most of the cross-section reduction in the AFR is from a higher short turn radius, which IMHO is a very good thing. Now to say they're the best.......Dunno if I'll support that statement based off of current data. But they're probably the best unmodified castings. Any good head porter can make as good or better of a head out of anything offered. The 5.3 is without question the best head for the money in the hands of a competant head porter at this time (Once agin my opinion). The LS6 castings have a lot to offer, but in my honest opinion are far overated. The LQ4s only really offer an exhaust port that people "think" is better (Which it is on a flowbench, but not nescessarily on an engine which has exhaust gages moving supersonic).
To be perfectly honest....The LQ4 heads by Patriot LOOK to be the best deal going. Of course I have no reason to support them since I port my own heads, and I also have never seen their work up close...But by what I know, and what I've seen.....That looks to be a CHEAAAAP head that should really haul some mail if they deliver what they show.
Now if you're not too concerned about money...I would use a good head porter and a set of AFRs...Then wait for the new influx of better heads that will follow. I know of a couple companies working castings out, that should reset the standard....Just my .02

The TEA 5.3L heads worked great with that cam.
