Default Another satisfied G5X3 install! (C5 coupe MN6)

Well many thanks to MTI for the install, and Lou for his R&D for making the G5X3/114! I ordered the cam & kit, and had MTI do the install for logistic reasons. The cam did come with the cam card! I know there is a lot of talk on the forum about the numbers being a secret, but I have them! I guess I lucked out! Don't worry Lou your secret is safe with me! MTI was hesitant on installing this big of a cam without fly cutting the pistons, but I reassured them by calling LGM, to let MTI know that it will clear! The install went without a hitch except for when my computer and LS1 edit could not talk to one another. MTI got on the phone to LS1 edit and resolve the problem. This added an extra day. I had an MTI install their under drive pulley system, and 160 degree thermostat. LS1 edit did its job and tuned her to 405RHWP! The down side was the torque management on their dyno was not working so I can only guess the average of everyone else with the same bolt ons (Breathless vortex power duct, Blackwing, GHL exhaust with 4" tips, 1 3/4 Kooks Headers, Hi-flow cats, X-pipe), to be in the 370s. My baseline with out any tune was 346.8 RWHP, and 333.6 RWTQ.
Drivability is not an issue except I notice I have to shift at much higher RPMS or the car seems to surge. The computer is still learning I was told so at idle it is hunting for about 5 seconds before it settles in around to the set 875. I hope with time this will go away….all though it does not happen all the time. I also notice a stronger smelling exhaust once you shut down....speaking of exhaust, I use to have the popping sound on decelerating but now is totally gone! Idle is just awesome! If you did not turn heads before, you will now with his cam! Sitting at a stop light, pulling in for gas, or going to the corner store everyone stops and gives the thumbs up! My face hurts from grinning so much!

Gas mileage for my 600+ trip going before the cam swap was around 28.1. On the way back it went down to 25.4. I am still happy with that with an average speed of 85 mph!

Oh yeah!

DNAST1.....where do you live? are you going to be able to pass smog? ,because ive heard that ,that cam is pretty nasty.(when it comes to emissions).im not knocking the quality of the cam at all, just the smog-legality of it. BTW very nice #'s.
