I've had a B1 cam in my car and a TR220 and I'll tell you that the B1 idles and drives like a MUCH larger cam than it is due to it's slow ramp rates. The advertised duration of the B1 cam is 280*, I don't know what the advertised numbers of the TSP cam is (maybe one of the TSP guys can give that info) but I'll bet that it is on a much more aggressive lobe than the old B1 cam. That aggressive lobe will equal a better idle and much more power. TSP had a good deal going on their 220 cam not too long ago

i would'nt go with the b1 cam,it's way too small. i had the c1 cam on a 112 lob and it drove like a stock cam. the car did'nt shake at idle hardly at all and you could only hear the cam out the exhaust.if you get the c1 or c2 on a 114 lob you'll make more power and it will still drive like a stock cam and you'll have more power. i now have the g5x2 cam(232/240 595/609 112) and after it was tuned it drives just as good as the small c1 cam i had, just has more lob and shakes the car a little more at idle. you'll be suprised on how great the c1 or 2 cam on a 114 lob will be in your car. goodluck to ya. ow yeah....i also ran 11's in the 1/4mi on that small c1 cam.

The T1 lopes harder than the C1 and is a great "old" cam IMHO. The B1 is the T1 on a 114 for automatics. Through my exhaust set up and at 800 idle you can really hear my C1 from the pipes and on the throttle. It is nowhere near the G5 cams (totally different cam ballpark)but it will lope harder than the TR 224 cams due to the slower ramp rate they have and the c1 does put down good usable power. I think the XE lobes and drop in duals are the cause of people running all the really big durations that are commonplace now resulting in 10-15 extra HP at 6700 rpm.
The old T1/C1 Cams put down great numbers and have a strong fanbase. I am struggling with what to replace mine with when I put the shaved AFR's on.
Good Luck.

I lhave a T1 cam and like it alot. I just recently installed a ported throttle body along with an LS6 intake (needs a tune now) and put down #'s below(90 degrees with 90% humidity) and still need a pulley. It sounds great thru my hooker catback in the car and especially out! It only has a .559 lift at .50 so it is alot easier on the springs. That is good for me as it is adaily driver and I wont have to change he springs nearly as much.

What Gomer said about lobes Ramp rates: B1 ~ C1 < TSP220 ~ TR220.

Don't hesitate to go with a cam with less duration. You're girlfriend earholes neighbors & wallet will all thank you afterwards.

My B1 has a nice little lope" and runs like a much larger cam through the 1/4mile . I am getting ready to make the change to the new MTI G1 cam -228/232-.588/.575 :114 or the R1 cam-232/236-.575/.578:113

I changed gear to the 3.90's and my B1 don't make enough power above 6500 to get the best performance from this setup like it does with the 3.42's. The times in my sig were ran with the 3.42's in back.
