I would also agree that its time to get new pistons, they only cost about $650 for a set, and you should be able to pull all of them out with the block in the car (from the top), although I can't vouch for this through personal experience.

Totally agree.
Nothing wrong with the piston it will be 100% fine.
I have done this myself, it is nothing to worry about.
Fix the valves and fix the problem that caused this to happen and put her back together.

You can't just pull pistons and stick new ones in. Even if you get stock pistons you will have to run a berral brush through the bores to make the new rings seat. Forged pistons are +0.005" (unless you pay a few $100 extra for custom ones) so there is a rebore on the block.
you should be fine with that "ding"......it's nothing big. The valves however are 100% damaged (been there.....I KNOW the results....) so you will at min need to replace that valve and have the seat recut.

You alos need to make sure the guide isn't shot from that hit. The valve is toast... I can't see the pic, so I can't comment past that.

Now What Made The Valve Hit The Piston. I Know I Overreved The Car. But What Makes The Piston Hit The Valve. Does Something Stretch?? I have had a set of afr 205cc heads on order for almost 2 months now. so i should be getting them soon. i dont know what ill be doing with the PP heads yet

You had a valve spring either brake or "go soft" (not be able to keep up with the weight of the valve train and the RPMs) so the valve was able to overshoot where it should have been and hit the piston. Get stiffer valve springs AND don't over rev anymore

i had the same problem when i did my H/C install in was on 2 pistons.
though the dings were smaller..... VALVE FLOAT!!!! and this was on a stock valve train!
our lifters have a bit of travel.... 120 thou. i belive. then add your lift probly 560-580?
and your milled heads.... and there you go!
i believe a better spring like duals will keep that from happening!

I broke my timing chain a while back. Both valves hit most of the pistons (probably a bit worse than yours). I was told from several sources that the pistons were probably fine, just needed to file all the sharp edges to prevent future detonation.
But in my case it was best to pull the motor to have the bearings checked because the crank takes a pretty good hit when the valves hit the pistons. Jason from thunder told me that he's seen a couple of cars that were over rev'd that had bearing damage.

Everything should be ok. Inspect the valve seat and lap in a new valve. When you over-rev the valves float.
De-carb the piston and smooth out any rough edges from the impact to prevent detonation. Piston should be fine.
Watch oil pressure in future. If it goes below 25psi your bearings might be showing a problem, but doubt it will be an issue.
