Default Who grinds MTI's cams?

I'm looking at MTi's new G1 cam and was wondering who grinds it and what kind of lobes is it on? It's look very promising to me.

It's ground by Comp and is the newest addition to our lineup. We just installed one in an ATI Procharged Corvette and picked up 40rwhp with no tuning changes. (470 rwhp to 511 rwhp). This particular version of the G1 was cut on a 115 LSA and we can customize your G1 on any LSA that you'd like.

The specifications on the G1 are 228/232, .588/.575 - 113 LSA.

Thanks and best regards,

I am looking at this cam also . I was told that it would work well in my A4 w/3.90 gears & a 4000 stall.

I have it... check out my sig for other mods...

Before mods DYNO: stock
312rwhp @5300 rpm
332rwtq @4150 rpm

After mods DYNO: 13 to 1 AFR/ 28-29 degrees timing, no KR
412rwhp @6300 rpm
393twtq @4650rpm

I am not impressed considering my car was a strong performer stock. I have been told by MTI that it should show 425ish, even with the 115+4 lsa. Considering the lsa it peaked early, I thought. I may be splitting hairs at this point.

312 Stock isnt that strong man. Although 412 with stage 2 heads and a cam that big is pretty weak, looks like your missing a ported TB. That should be good for ~7-10 HP, the numbers dont seem too bad to me, how was the weather? With stock gears, a TB, and some good air I bet you would be over 425.

if your car was layin down 345 stock, and you were only makin 412 now, I'd be real worried. But a 100rwhp jump from heads/cam is pretty decent, kinda weak considering the brand of heads/cam but nothing to kill yourself over.

You obviously don't follow C5 performance... 312 rwhp with a bone stock C5 is good... usually the 2001s hit around 300 - 305....

The temps were around 60 (F) ambient and my IATs were in the low 70s...

I thought about the TB (maybe a Shaner), but after doing a search I can not find any proof that there would be any real HP gain. Heck even the guy who makes the Shaner would not commit to any HP increase...

Ported TB is worth 5-9rwhp easily. It's a no brainer.

Thanks.... I guess I have come this far doing it all myself, $159 for a ported/polished TB will not kill me....

Would the Shaner be the best bet???
