Strongest LS1 Internals?
What internal setup is the absolute strongest out there for the aluminum LS1 block? I'm still in the planning stages, but I want to know what the limit is? Thanks for any help.

If you what the baddest set up call eagle for the rods (TI)($2200) and call diamond pistons($1000). The ls1 will hold a good amount of power but not that 18psi and 300 shot u want to run. I would look into the iron block. I am not going to take a chance. $1000 in parts is to much to just say well if it goes i will do it again.

the iron block is the way to go, since you're not boring it out. it will give you the strength. trust me, with 18psi and a 300 shot(which i highly doubt you'll successfully pull off anytime soon, no offense, thats mad tricky), the ~85lbs won't be a big deal. talk to 383LQ4SS. he's spraying a 350 shot on a built motor in stages, and he's gonna be running 700+ horses on just the 350 shot. thats a hell of a car/motor. what you're tryin to do is insane.

How about 20 or so psi and some alky or methanol sp. I think that would be the way to go. Tuning for boost and the bottle would be a nightmare. You would lean out so quick and then u can just kiss that motor good by.

lol, No. I already have a F1 kit and all the goodies waitin to be installed, so I figured even if I rarely use it I might as well just leave it on.

you only need a 35-50 shot to achieve that. tuning for that isn't a PITA either.

It all depends on your budget. You can't beat an aluminum block when they're prepped properly. They are easy to fix if they are damaged. They don't add weight. You can mess around with different cylinder liners to.
I'd definitely recommend billet mains. Katech has them, and they can also do your engine work.
