Hey guys, I just want to say how lucky all of you are. You all get to drive your ls1's every day, just like I used too. I am a Marine and I got transferred to Okinawa, Japan. I miss my car so much! That's not going to stop me from buying parts though. I'll just install them when I am on leave. I have most all of the typical bolt-ons, and now I want more power. I was thinking about heads/cam, but I use this car as a daily driver. I am not into going to the strip to race, I just want a fast car for the street. I would like to know where to buy an extremely reliable kit that would still give me 400 rwhp or more. Any info would be very helpful. Price doesn't really matter as long as it is not outrageous. Thanks.

I would get a streetable stall first..maybe 2800-3200..that will make the biggest difference.

With all the bolt on's, I would think that any head/cam package would put you to 400hp. You sound like you're looking to keep your car tame most of the time, but want to scare the hell out of a few Z06's once in awhile too. There are several sponsors to the site that make great packages for your application. I've only worked with ThunderRacing.com, but they were EXCELLANT. You should give them a call and take their advice. Thanks for your service BTW.

If it were me, a stall would be my next mod. Then, I would follow that up with some headers. And I wouldn't buy a stall as small as 2800 personally. I went with a 3800, and I love it.

What do you guys think of this: cam 224/224-114 on stock heads. I was told this should be good for about 380 rwhp with my current mods. What size stall should I get to go with this. I was thinking 3200 maybe 3500, but I don't know anything about stalls. Thanks.

Yup, trans cooler and stall are essetial for A4's. That's what I would do, 3500 stall and trans cooler.

damn MP

just messin with ya man...i was with 3-8CAV, First Cavalry Division til July of this year(medical discharge). Had a few buddies that had spent time in Okinawa in their tours with the Marine Corps before they switched over to the Army. It sucks you don't get to bring your car over!!

Go with a stall, 3500 with that cam will work out nicely. Pick up a trans cooler at the same time and you'll be set. Good luck over there man, I hear Okinawa is what you make of it.

Thanks guys. To be politically correct Okinawa is "what you make of it". In my opinion it sucks. There is no better place than the U.S. I appreciate all of the info I am going to go ahead and purchase these parts and intall them this May when I take leave.

while you are putting in the torque converter and trans cooler, put in a trans go shift kit as well.
