Maybe with one of these Carb setups I have been seeing around. Someone not sure which board it was had a stock cid, done up bottom end, heads cam ls1 with a carb setup and made like just over 500rwhp.

Realistically, unless you have some unknown reason, if your undertaking a project to get that kind of power from stock cubes, the FAST intake/TB isnt gonna make much difference in the overall cost. With a mild cam, i serioulsy dont see that happening.

You might be able to do it but you won't be able to be conservative,
I bet you need a wild cam, high compression (no pump gas), and all the best supporting parts.

No way on a stock bottom end. Even if you manage to get that power, the first time you get on it you will spit the crank on the street. You will need a forged bottom end, the heads, mild cam, and either a 200 shot or a blower.

BTW, I think Stealth99 on CorvetteForum is running a 436ci NA through an A4 making over 590rwhp. So it is possible, but that's not stock cubes or internals.
Looking at stock displacement with forged internals... Forged components usually make less hp due to the extra rotating mass when keeping all the other components the same. However, with forged stuff we don't have the same constraints. We can go to the hairy edge with compression/quench, put a wild cam in, solid lifters, etc. Even with all the strongest and wildest stuff in there I would think it would be very close to if not actually an all-out race motor only making those numbers above 6500... I bet it would fun to drive.

if MTi is getting 550rw out of thier 427's Id say its dooable. MTI dosent cam cars to hell and back either so im pretty sure with a more aggressive cam than what they normaly run I would think you could get 580 at the wheels.

I don't think that its possible with stock displacement. Fms did 550 to the wheels with a forged piston/rod stock displacement motor. I'd bet thats about the limit n/a power for a stock displacement motor. If you went to a 427 or bigger i think you could do it. Also the stock crank can hold up to more than 800 hp, no one has ever really reached the limit afaik. But there are guys out there with close to a 1000 hp on them. As well most aftermarket forged items are lighter than stock cast internals.

710 Flywheel Horsepower on pump gas out of a 436 is pretty easy for someone who is good with engines. I'm thinking 650ish @ the flywheel for N/A pumpgas 346... Going to need a pretty wild camshaft though. I think upper 700's to lower 800's could be done w/ a 436 CID motor. Best bet would be to talk to someone who understands engines and airflow. Ed Curtis, Chris Straub, Bret Bauer are some of the best

You could do it but not with a stock short block. The rods and more importantly the rod bolts would never hold up. Call Alan like Damien said he makes some nice setups. And why the number 710 fwhp?
