Ordering the SLP 402=PITA
So the 3600 price tag looks good, even though no durability reports are out. I think its a little concerning that the only way they'll take payment is via certified check, due to no warranty. This way a customer can't stop charges on a bad engine. Hmmm. Then, there is a hidden crate fee of $100, and a generous shipping fee($300 for one state away) Am I getting trigger shy, or is good sense taking over?

You can do better for the same price.. Spend your money with AP, HPE etc , that are on here contributing to the LS1 community, and when you have a problem, will the first to step up and fix it. you wont get that with SLP

SLP has 10% off if you have the coupon from their catalog, btw. Should cover the shipping costs.
Tbynre sells them for $100 less, and offers $100 off if you order online.
Hope this helps.

Just to clarify. We (HPE) are able to take cc's over the phone now. Had some problems with our old cc merchant, so we switched to a new one, and so far I haven't had any problems with them.

Our motors are all built custom per application. But we keep most of the normal stuff in stock, so we usually can get the average shortblock done within a few weeks.
