How hard would it be to swap a 6.0 truck motor into a 99 f-body?

How hard would it be to swap a 6.0 truck motor into a 99 f-body?
My brother has a 03 6.0L motor and he is thinking of puting it into a f-body. How much if a PITA would it be and would it work any better?

I personally don't think it’s worth it, 6.0l weights about 100lbs more (Iron Block). Power isnt that much higher either. Everything will bolt up, you just need to convert to f-body accessories, and intake.

far as I know, it just drops right in.
I am going with an Iron Block LQ9 6.0 402 as well
It does weigh 100LBS more, but if you stroke or spray it than that makes up the difference :-)

Its teh same as putting a LS1 in... you just have to drill and tap a hole in the block to mount the Alternator..... If your going to go thru the trouble of putting that motor in you might as well make a built motor out of it with all forged parts and get a littl emore cubes out of it.

1 the block is way stronger than the aluminum block
2 you can bore it out with out buying high price sleeves.
3 soo many peeps are going that route cause of the price.
4 100lbs you can loose that any where else
strength is the reason why you should go with the 6.30 with out the cost cause theres a guy with a stock 6.0 bored 408 with good rods and good pistons and a stock crank running 8's all day long unless you got the cash for the aftermarket sleeves and engine gurdle. but thats just my thoughs and reserch i done

Yes it is very worth the truble. Look at Bigeller. H was running a 228 cam on a 11.5 with the same heads i am running and made 420rwhp. The problem was the weight and it was not the car. Car was stripped and it weight 3300 but with him in it it weight 3600-3650.
The LQ4/9 does not weight 100 more it is more like 67 more but i just weight the block.
I guess with the sold jurnals and the forged pistons and rods that would make it 80 more or so.
You only have to tap for the alt. Other than that it is a straight drop in.

I understand the iron blocks can be bored much more then aluminum, but reguarding strength.... When has anyone ever reported an aluminum ls1 block failing due to hp? The only times I have seen damage done to an ls1 block is from some component failing and causing the damage. The extra 100 pounds is .1 of second, even if you shed it from somewhere else, that is still 100 extra pounds up front that cant be removed. The only reason I see of going iron is for the fact that you can hvae a much larger bore.
