ARP rodbolts and bearings..... inside please
hey there,
I wanna install ARP bolts..... should I change the bearings as well?? I prefer not to but do I have to????

I'm no expert by any means...but I will go ahead and tell you what I think. I would not change the bearings without checking every rod and main for oil clearances. If you're leaving the engine in the car, there's probably not enough room to check so I wouldn't mess with it unless there is a problem already.

I don't have an f-body... My ls1 is in a fiero. so I don't know how tight the pace is, but if I was going to the work of changing the rod bolts I would change the bearings at the same time. He is correct that you should plasti gauge any new bearings you install. How many mile are on this car? That makes I difference too.

I did not change my bearings win i installed my ARP rod bolts <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Na! I changed my rod bolts to ARP about 6 months ago and I've been thrashing it ever since. (7k limiter) I didn't even lift a cap for a look, I couldn't see the point in worrying about it.

I pulled the caps just to look at the bearings. They were all smooth as silk. I didn't think I needed to change them so I just did the bolts. The car had 33k miles when I changed the bolts.
