Default new cam installed, when can I run it?

I just put my new CC230/236 cam in tonight, it has 10 miles on it now. I heard that since LS1's have roller cams they dont need a true 'break in'. The valvesprigns are used and already been through a heatcycle. Would it be safe to run my car tomorrow at the local Test n Tune, or should I put some miles on it and change the oil first?

go for it. I installed mine Friday night and was at the dragstrip Saturday morning. After I heat cycled valve springs, of course.

Might want to heat cycle them one more time. Been a rule of thumb for me that 2 heat cycles is better than one.

By "heat cycle" do you guys mean....

1. Turn on the car, wait until motor reaches operating temp., turn off car & let it cool down completely = 1 heat cycle or.....

2. Turn on the car, drive it around the block until it reaches operating temp., drive home, turn the car off & let it cool down completely = 1 heat cycle......

It wouldn't be a bad idea to wait 100 miles or so and then change oil before going to the track. Or you could just run it!
