Default Who make a GOOD no leaking .040-.045 gasket?

Theres two different cometics, is one better o ringed around water passages then the other? I like everything about the GM MLS, except its .054!!!

I'm with you about the GM MLS gaskets. I've seen engines with virtually all the different gaskets have trouble at some point. I guess it depends on your particular application. The Cometic gaskets seem to work well for N/A applications, but some have had trouble with F/I engines. Not all...........just some. The GM gaskets are nice, but thick...........

I have the .040 cometics. They are doing a great job so far. I think the .045's are the same only slightly thicker.

SOMEONE has to have a repeatable procedure that works with the cometics.. or some other gasket!

I don't see where you would have a problem with the Cometics as long as your block and head decks are truely flat.

Been using the Cometics down to 0.030" here with no problems.

what are all these guys complaining about leaking then?

If your just pulling the heads off cleaning them up, is that surface going to be true enough to have no worrys under boost/nitrous? Motor was put together 5k miles ago.

Any reason why using some copper coat or something equivalent to keep coolant passages sealed well would hurt it?
