mrr23, i've not seen a lot of people run those springs? but why pay 330 for springs less battle proven over springs that everyone knows will be good to go, for 280? just curious what warrants the $50 difference!

There have been a few posts about the cranes not being able to stack up against some of the cams out there. The Patriot/PRC springs havn't been fadded yet to my knowledge. The cranes have also had a few failures which can be undesirable. For the question at hand, I'd go with the Patriot/PRC's. There basically the same spring and come from the same company. The specs just had to be squed a bit on the PRC's to make them "diffrent" from the Patriots.

well seeing as my wife's car is one of their test cars, i guess so.
cyphur - i have the Crane/ vinci springs in the wife's car currently. i'm sure there are plenty others running the springs. they just call them Crane. Crane and vinci work together in developing LSx products. the $50 difference? steel material they use would be one reason. do the ones for $280 include titanium retainers and spring seat locators?

the current duals on the wife's car are the first design. they've been on since april 04. granted on a stock cam, but no issues with them.

Ive tried one set of the cranes on an X3 car and they floated bad at high RPMs... Ive used over 20 sets of Comp 921s all with flawless performance... I have over 20,000 miles on mine in the current car with the G5X4 and still pulling HARD at 7000 with no hint of valve float

The comps are good if you have the extra $. It all falls back to the dough. Why spend more if you don't have too? After some searching, the cranes seem to have pretty low open and closed seat pressures. This makes them weaker when it comes to bigger cams. Although I believe the post I'm fixing to link to was pointless as the original topic goes, it did bring forth a bit of good information.: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...pring+pressure
