Default Should I replace all cam bearings?

When I installed my Comp cam in my new 6.0 block, I had issues trying to get the cam installed. After spending an hour trying to get the cam in, I ended up gouging the front cam bearing pretty good. I took a big chunk out of the first bearing. I've installed many cams and for some reason, this cam would not go in on the last set of lobes. The other bearings are fine. I bought a set of Federal Mogul cam bearings since they were cheaper than buying a single GM cam bearing.

I was going to replace just the front bearing only but I've been reading about some issues with the 6.0 cam bearings. Should I go ahead and replace all of them with the FM's? Has anyone had issues with the GM cam bearings (5.7, 6.0)?

Not to my knowledge. If you arlready tearing it down then yes I would change them all. But if not then just do the one and go down the road until you have something else major to do.

If you're gonna be in there, might as well do them all. Just MHO.

Is it possible to replace just the front cam bearing with the engine still in the car?

Yes you can. It is just not done very often or would most recomend it without replacing all of them and that definately requires the whole engine to be torn apart.

Thanks, Inspector. I assume I would be using a slide hammer to get the old bearing out. What kind of an attachment would be best? I hesitate to grab it in one place with a hook. Is there something else I could use?
