plz clear this cam issue up....
ok all things being the same on the cam, what will changing from a 114 to a 112, 110 do?
what if all you do is add advance or retard.
if you wanted to add low end, add top end would you advance ot retard?

I dont know about the advance/retard, but I do know a little about LSA.
All else equal as LSA decreases (114->112->110) the power-ban is shifted downward in the RPM range. A 112 will hit peak HP about 200 RPMs sooner then a 114. But the lower the LSA the poorer the idle quality (114->112->110 = Lumpy->Lopey->Chaotic)

Advancing a cam is supposed to move the power band down a bit. Also, I've heard that if advancing a cam yields less power, it means the heads may be capable of supporting an even bigger cam; if retarding the cam yields less power that means the cam may be too big for the application.

I run my MTI X1 230/227 .591/.571 114LS in my A4..the only thing I did to get it to idle right before the tuning was adjust the set screw...and if anyone needs more power 200 rpm sooner than what this cam provides has 30" tires and a 9" under their car cause this cam is wicked nasty.
