Not sure but I don't think a whole lot. It wouldn't be worth it until you were ready to have them ported. I think the heads themselves are like 1300.00 that's a lot to spend and not get much of a HP jump.

LS6 heads in unported form provide a 20-30rwhp boost all by themselves
over the LS1 heads. Ported heads dont' really gain "that much" over unported
LS6 heads due to the limitations of the LS6 intake manifold.

Well, I found a good deal on some ls6 heads and I was thinking about getting them. You guys think I would be better off getting a different kind of heads or getting these ls6 heads and get a good cam to go with them?
I'm gonna get headers soon too. I'm hoping to make atleast 420rwhp on motor. What would be my best bet to make this kind of power with a 2001 M6 WS6 for decent price?

Thanks!

That is a silly statement. So I guess with all things considered if you have an LS1 intake, then ported heads will not help you at all? WRONG. Ported LS6 heads are king for the big power. If people didnt gain much from them, then no body would be running around with $3K-$4K dollar heads. Oh yeah and you are kinda *** backwards. People that are already running big cams and a good set of stage 2 or better heads dont see that much gain from the fast 90/90, 20whp or so. When you already have 450 at the wheels, is it really worth $1800.

There is a brand new set of LS6 heads up on ebay with a buy it now price of $600. That's a hell of a deal if anyone is looking for a set. I think the seller is motorcityparts.

Thats ok. Im sure everyone knows about them anyway. I've been looking at them, but i'm not sure what would be the best thing for me to do to make the power I want to make.

So could I get some stock heads off of a Z06 and gain a decent amount of HP? Or would it be a big difference to send them off and get them ported?

BTW, where is the best place to get heads ported these days?
