Default Is a 224/224 cam right for me?

I'm looking at getting a cam now. I want more power, but no loss of low end TQ. I want no driveability issues or idel issues. Emissions is no problem. I do not plan on changing my rear end gears from the 3.42's.

If you have a 224 cam post some #'s or graphs if you have them. I think my mind is made up, but want to hear more.

I just installed a TSP 224R w/.581 lift and 114LSA. I have a similar setup to yours with longtubes and magnaflow. I am going for dyno tuning this friday and will post up a graph with the results. So far on the stock tune it is a little rough but drivable.

Best ET was yesterday, 11.65..

Drives, idles, runs fine..

TR 224 on stock heads 399rwhp @ 386rwtq with tuning running an ORY.
TR224 on stock heads 389rwhp @ 374rwtq with tuning running a Catted Y pipe.
Added Patriot 5.3L heads and ended up at 416rwhp @ 391rwtq thru the cats.

After tuning it drives virtually like stock with the 3.42s. It's one of the best street cams and suits your description well. You can always go bigger later on if you wish.

Peeps laugh at the B1 but its a perfect street cam.My car makes a dead flat torque curve and makes 350 ft at 3200.Its on a 114 and still has a decent lope.Truth be told tho,I would go 224 also.

I have a 224/581/112 and love it. I would post my dyno but LS1Camaro.net is down or gone.

GREAT midrange and it pulls all the way to redline at 6800. 413/383 SAE on stage 2 heads with 4.10s. I trapped almost 120 with it (119.61 in a headwind)

Email me at toposkis@adelphia.net if you want to see it.

Full Force, for the price I paid for the heads I feel as if it was worth it. Not only the peak 27rwhp gain @ 17rwtq. The lowend and midrange are what the heads really improved upon. 300rwtq @ 2200rpms @ 353rwtq @ 3000rpms. The car feels smoother all around after the heads.

tr224 on a 114lsa here

I put down 409 through a full gmmg exhaust with TTS cats. Thats with a pair of Absolute Speed 5.3 heads. I was in the 380 range without the heads. Cam has a slight lope at idle, but drives like stock and has very to no surging. Its a great cam that has proven itself on the dyno and at the track.

I put down 373rwhp/373rwtq (locked tc) with my TR 224/224 .563 112. That was with Jethots, ory, LS6 intake, jantzer tb, underdrive pully and open cutout.

I'm going with the smaller cam B1 but on milled MTI Stage 2-R heads

That's with QTP headers, catted Y-pipe, UD pulley, Shaner S3 TB, 4:11s and Volant CAI... 6 speed car.

It will be interesting to see how much rwhp I'll gain...
