Default How much valve lash?

I just got a set of Comp Roller Rockers (PN 1375-16) and I'm getting ready to bolt them on. I think I heard that .020 is the proper gap to set for valve lash. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? If not what is the proper gap? Thx.

I have a set of Comp Pro Magnum lifters to go along with the rockers. Should I call Comp to find the Lifter preload?

.008">.010" preload with a dial indicator (cold) with Pro Mags. I would go .010.

Make sure you clean the lifters with mineral spirit (to remove cosmolene coating) and soak them in oil for a few hours

Dead nut! .008"-.010" cold... .002"-.004" hot. People get confused thinking lash and preload are the same..they aren't..two different things. You only have lash on soild type camshafts and the lash they require depends on the lobe profile.

This may be a silly question but, where would I put the mag base for the indicator on an aluminum block?

I bolt my dial indicator rods to the air flange on the exhaust header, works perfect

Great idea. So your indicator rods obviously have 10mm threads on them. I have Starrett indicators with Starrett magbases. I'm prety sure the rods that came with thoses are ANSI threads though. I guess I could probably have the machienest at work make me a new rod. Thanks for the idea.

My header air flange is unthreaded so I just put a nut onto the threaded rod.
