Default Comp Spring Question

Has anyone confirmed that the 977's need to be used with Comp R lifters?

If the person that put my heads together didn't tell me what springs he used, is there any way of telling if I pull a couple of them off?

If the heads have been milled for the larger diameter spring, can I put a stock dia spring back in there? ie: crane duals?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Andy

Andy, what do you think about changing springs out? its not to hard to do with the right tools, takes me 2 hours most to knock a set of springs out, and some of the springs I get for these guys are downright cheap!

Id really like to see that car together and finish the tune

The Comp 977 spring issue is a farse in my opinion, they coil bind at 1.200" and with most installed heights at 1.800", leaving .050" from peak lift to coil bind puts you at .550" max lift. I think someone was buying some generic springs and calling them Comp 977, I know PP did this also. Take the heads to a professional shop and have them checked out, if that is not convenient then just drop a set of gold duals on, we have the kit for $249
