Default So many options/opinions on heads, but yet I still need it

Im stumped yet on what heads to buy for my 2000 WS6 M6. I am getting a new short block and building up with cam, heads, intake etc.I was thinking on going with the 205 AFR heads. Any idea/proof of others that will outflow?Am I better off saving a few bucks and going with Patriot?I have heard mixed about Patriot, but I hear alot that AFR will outflow PP. Does anyone have a better option that these two?I like HP, but i do need reliablility since the stock ones werent Thanks for the help.

For a stock bore block you can not beat the GMPP CNC ported heads from SDPC. Great mid-lift flow numbers, light-weight Z06 valves, Z06 springs, and very dependable. We really need a little more info about your short block (bore, stroke) and what your final goal is for the car? Other heads can certainly fill the bill, it is all about the whole combination -- so now is the time to get it right while you are in this stage.

I would avoid PP like the plague. I'd go hand finished AFR's if you don't mind spending the cash. 205's vs 225's depends on what you want to do with the car and how many c.u. you've got.

Final goal is streetable. IM thinking I will run stock compression, but if convinced I should run higher might consider. This is mainly a drive to cruises etc car, no winters. Looking at running a lower lopey cam in it also. Gonna try to get as much HP out of it but yet keep compression stock and driveablility up.

If you are doing an engine with Valve reliefs we just go a new 2.5 5.3 head finshed. It is the most promising 5.3 head I have seen with a big valve. Below are some flow recent flow numbers for it.
.100 70.5
.200 144.1
.300 214.3
.400 259.1
.500 301.5
.550 316.2
.600 325.6
These numbers are on a 3.9 bore!!
I can get you into these for around $1750.00 These heads wkill also work well without valve reliefs but can effect camshaft selection as they will have less Piston to Valve clearence than a head with a 2.02 valve
Or We can also get you in on our 5.3 Stg 1.5 Rev2 heads. These have proven to be some very stought performers and flow right with an AFR 205 from .100 to .500 and outflow it after that by a good amount (110-15 cfm better at .600 lift) and you can get these right now for $1550.00

Sounds like good advice, although Z06 springs are questionable. What kind of price are we talking about for these heads?

Nice flow numbers there. Would be a very nice combo for his set up and the price point is nice also. Just checked out your website Brent, I'll be in touch this summer when I get my shortblock and need some heads.
