What do you think about this cam?
I am thinking about going with a Comp XE-R 224/228 .581/.588 112 (+4) for my Z06 (with the mods listed in my sig). I am looking for some good upper end power with a nice chop sound at idle. I will also be replacing my springs with 918's, Ti retainers and new P-rods. Hoping to hit in the 420+ RWHP range after the tune. I am not wanting to go above a .590 lift for life of the springs (hoping to go a few years without changing them). How do you think this 112 cam will do on the juice? All input is appreciated. Also will be going direct port (200 shot) within the next month... So wondering about the split for that. Stay tuned for pics on the setup, should be BadA$$...

My friend just threw it in his car this past weekend. He pulled an 11.8 with it with heads, ls6 and ported tB, Lt,s. No tune. He said he liked it alot. With the exh. being the 228 leave you room if you wanna spray later.

the higher lsa's from what I understand is good for juice.
I was gonna go with a 114 lsa but decided on 112+2 but I wont be using juice anymore.
I am selling my system I put down 473 on the juice I dont need 510-530rwhp with the cam. Just not gonna be good for injectors and pump.
oh sorry.. I just hijacked your thread.

The higher LSA's are better for nitrous but unless you are heavy into it and spraying a BIG shot buy the came for what you want to do naturally aspirated, it will handle the nitrous well regardless.

My friend, 02 Pewter LS1, is using the 114 (I believe +4) and has no trouble, with similar specs to what I listed on the possible cam choice. I wanted the "cool" chop of the 112, but by the sounds of it I should play it safe with the 114 (+4).
This forum "appears" to have a few more guys doing more "mods" to their LS1's then my normal haunt, corvetteforum. Only a few guys over there have gone DP, most do the FI mod. I personally like the juice better, but to each their own! Again, thanks for the input! Keep it coming. Another question, which is better on the juice, higher lift or longer duration, both within reason. Another words, will a 224/228 .590/.590 be better then a 228/232 .580/.580 ?
I may go with the OTS Comp Cam then, the 224 230 0.581 0.588 114 and do a +4, unless there is something else I may need to look at. Remember, I do not want to be changing springs every 6 months to a year. I drive about 3000 a year, mostly to meets and the track.
